Harley-Davidson VS. My Wedding

Running into some trouble scheduling my wedding. We were going to do it next Labor Day weekend (Aug. 30, 2008) and have been planning on it - I just booked the church this week and we were drawing up contracts with the reception hall - no deposit down yet, thank goodness - and we just found out about this:

I'm keeping updates here.

PS: No, I'm not interested in motorcycles. The event takes place in Milwaukee and the surrounding area... making things ridiculously expensive, hard to book, and probably noisy too!

If there was ever any doubt about just how bad this is... basically all hotels in the vicinity (including the one where I was planning the reception) are now completely booked over a year in advance for this Harley event on Labor Day weekend 2008. In fact, we've heard about people renting out their homes (any spare beds or couches) to Harley lovers from across the country. This is big.

I don't know where my reception hall thought I'd be storing my guests. We didn't get this information from them - we had to go down the street to a competing hotel to find this out. Thank goodness we hadn't put down a deposit yet - the one for the hall was $2,000 non-refundable, and we almost wrote a check out last week. Now to start over back from square one...
