Prayer Request: Rob's Surgery

Please pray for my uncle Rob, a dear member of our family who is going into surgery tomorrow morning to have part of his liver removed. Although normally a very healthy person, he has been suffering strange health issues lately and must now undergo this procedure to take out and diagnose a mass in his liver. We're hoping the surgery will be successful and without complication, and I'm asking all who believe in the power of prayer to have him in mind tomorrow morning. Thanks!

Thanks for all your emailed prayers and well-wishes. I just found out that my uncle just came out of his long surgery and is in the recovery room. They did remove a tumor and half of the lower-left lobe of his liver, and they will be screening all of the tissue for cancer, etc. I don't know how immediate the results will come, but we'rea hoping for the best. It is pretty rare to find this sort of tumor without a prior cancer diagnosis, so we are hoping that this was an early catch and proactive response.

Just a quick update, he was able to stand a little bit today. But he was really bummed to hear the doctor describe how rare this tumor is. We're still waiting for specific results, but the doctor seemed to think it was a cancerous tumor. For now.. I'm just praying it wasn't malignant, or that if it was, that the surgery took care of it all.

Another positive update: Rob was able to leave the hospital today and get back on somewhat normal food (restricted diet of course). He hasn't been able to eat since Monday (IV only). Now we just have to wait for the pathology results.

Another update:
Rob is sounding like he's in great spirits after finding out that there has been no specific cancer diagnosis following his surgery.

They did caution him that this looked like a very rare case of Biliary Papilloma, which has strong malignant potential, so no doubt he's going to have to continue with regular checks on his condition to make sure it doesn't reappear in his system.

Thanks for all your continued prayers!!! You're the best!
